Fuel types and how to choose the right one for your prop

When I started performing several years ago, there weren't very many resources online to help me understand fuel and fuel safety. Should I use white gas, rubbing alcohol, or ultra pure lamp oil (aka uplo)? Also, I'd heard that some performers mix their fuels.
